This album showcases Bob Dylan’s triumphant performance at Woodstock ’94, on Sunday, 14 August 1994.
Dylan snubbed the original Woodstock festival in 1969, so it was more than a little surprising when he signed on for its 1994 sequel. He was even introduced as such: ‘We waited twenty-five years to hear this. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Bob Dylan’. His presence on the stage elicited a large roar from the crowd and he delivered a performance that was widely regarded as the highlight of the festival.
Uncharacteristically for the time, Dylan played lead guitar in a more rock-oriented electric set and perhaps the pinnacle came with his searing rendition of All Along the Watchtower.
